The Empire of Septempontia

A micronation may be informally defined as a group of people who band together to assume some of the trappings of state: political processes; legislation; official holidays, heraldry, and other symbols; ceremonies and titles; and other elements of culture. In short, a micronation is a group of people pretending to be a "real country."

No. Septempontia is an opportunity to experiment with a strong monarchic government with some constitutional limitations, and to identify cultural elements that make us, well, Septempontian. It could be described as an academic pursuit or even "just a hobby".

We do not advocate any sort of illegal secession from the nation-states we are citizens of.

While Septempontia does maintain this website, and Septempontians use the Internet as a means of communicating and networking with one another, we are not interested in soliciting "random people" as citizens.

People who are personally known by Septempontians may be invited to participate, and are welcome to make inquiries about citizenship through their Septempontian friends. If you have friends in Septempontia, feel free to ask them how you can get involved.

"Septempontia" is Latin for "[Place of] Seven Bridges".

In short, the principal founders of the nation are from Pennsylvania, which has lots of rivers and bridges; and the number seven kept coming up when looking at initial ideas for our culture and national lore. You might learn more reading our history.
